Among the closest shapes (at most one axis off by one step), ordered by score. Re-reviews of the same sake are excluded and each brewery appears once. Where fewer than four qualify, the next closest shapes fill the gap.
Here's the 2020-vintage jikagumi (bottled straight off the press) model of Lapis — the Miyamanishiki-based model from Aramasa Shuzo's Colors series — offered in remembrance of the now-discontinued Lapis. Lapis was discontinued right around when Betsu-atsurae switched from nakadori (the prized middle cut of the pressing) to jikagumi, which makes the jikagumi model especially rare. The aroma is restrained, and a green-apple-like sweetness and acidity stir a sense of melancholy. It was truly this blue sake that once served as the gateway into Aramasa.
