Among the closest shapes (at most one axis off by one step), ordered by score. Re-reviews of the same sake are excluded and each brewery appears once. Where fewer than four qualify, the next closest shapes fill the gap.
This bottle was released as the final Lapis, the year after Lapis production ended in 2021. Carbon dioxide is charged in for preservation, so you can enjoy a strong effervescence. A rich depth and umami, along with a faint sweetness reminiscent of fruit or Japanese confectionery, lingers gently. Lapis captivates with the possibilities held within Miyamanishiki rice — but when you realise there will be no next Lapis, this sake tastes very bitter indeed.
