Among the closest shapes (at most one axis off by one step), ordered by score. Re-reviews of the same sake are excluded and each brewery appears once. Where fewer than four qualify, the next closest shapes fill the gap.
One from the Musha Shugyo series, brewed by Hidehiko Matsumoto — long-time toji (master brewer) at Sawaya Matsumoto — under the roof of Tomita Shuzo, brewer of Shichihonyari. A softly drifting fruit aroma and a light, smooth-flowing umami define it. It's the lightest, cleanest-drinking sake in the whole Musha Shugyo series, and the way the finish snaps clean without leaning on alcohol heat is a thing of beauty.
