Among the closest shapes (at most one axis off by one step), ordered by score. Re-reviews of the same sake are excluded and each brewery appears once. Where fewer than four qualify, the next closest shapes fill the gap.
Introducing Tangerine, the new colour added to Aramasa Shuzo's 'Colors' line-up, which conveys the appeal of Akita-grown rice. It uses a rice called Fukunohana, bred in 1959 at the Tohoku Agricultural Experiment Station. A rich, full-bodied umami and a refreshing acidity harmonise in good balance. A bitterness derived from kioke shikomi (brewed in wooden vats) adds an accent, resulting in a sake that carries both lightness and richness, with plenty of substance to satisfy.
