Aramasa Shuzo
Reviewed in H1 2022

A sweet-sour aroma no other Aramasa has. Fresh strawberry condensed milk. Sweet-sour, creamy yet fresh, and the bursting carbonation feels wonderful — but it bursts a little too well, so you need to take the utmost care when you open it.

Among the closest shapes (at most one axis off by one step), ordered by score. Re-reviews of the same sake are excluded and each brewery appears once. Where fewer than four qualify, the next closest shapes fill the gap.
One of the rarest bottles even within Aramasa's "Private Lab" lineup. A sparkling seishu (refined sake) with a low 8% ABV, carbonated through secondary fermentation in the bottle. Its sweet-and-sour aroma is unlike any other Aramasa — if you had to describe it, think refreshing strawberry condensed milk. The popping carbonation feels wonderful, but it pops so hard that real care is needed when opening the bottle.
