Among the closest shapes (at most one axis off by one step), ordered by score. Re-reviews of the same sake are excluded and each brewery appears once. Where fewer than four qualify, the next closest shapes fill the gap.
Kankiku, the celebrated Chiba sake, released this as the culmination of its 2021 vintage. Made lavishly with the versatile Yamadanishiki and the elusive Aiyama, and bottled from jikagumi nakadori alone (jikagumi: bottled straight off the press; nakadori: the middle cut of the pressing) — this one is pure high-end. A gorgeous pineapple-like aroma and a flavor that's remarkably refined and crystal clear define it.
