Among the closest shapes (at most one axis off by one step), ordered by score. Re-reviews of the same sake are excluded and each brewery appears once. Where fewer than four qualify, the next closest shapes fill the gap.
"Juyondai" — the sake that sparked the recent hojun umakuchi (rich, mellow) boom. Its quality has driven its popularity ever higher, making it one of the hardest sakes to get hold of. Takagi Shuzo, the brewery behind "Juyondai," made this rice — Aiyama — famous across the whole country. A glamorous aroma of fully ripened fruit is set off beautifully by a faint acidity. The mouthfeel is extremely smooth, and pure, unadulterated umami and sweetness spread instantly to fill the mouth, brimming with happiness.
