Among the closest shapes (at most one axis off by one step), ordered by score. Re-reviews of the same sake are excluded and each brewery appears once. Where fewer than four qualify, the next closest shapes fill the gap.
A look at “Gokujo Morohaku”, high-spec in name and in fact, from “Juyondai”, the sake that reigns at the summit of the sake world. One sip and the big bang of concentrated sweetness, umami and acidity has our hearts captive. The long finish of body and umami that follows offers a glimpse of the mystery of an infinitely expanding universe — or so it feels. Either way, this is a sake that demands strong self-control if you are not to drain it all at once.
