The sake called Jikon captivates countless sake lovers and creates the restless devotees who keep chasing it — known as "Jikonisuto" (Jikon addicts). Numata is one of them too. This bottle uses "Asahi," a rice variety once spoken of in the same breath as Kame no O and suited even for eating. Its strongly acidic aroma, like orange or grapefruit, is a perfect match for the label. The flavour, though, is different from the usual Jikon: clean and crisp at first sip, and although the sweetness is faint, the umami keeps spreading and spreading.
